HSE Specific Funding approval for 60 Bed Block at UHL given – O’Donnell
Limerick Senator Kieran O’Donnell has welcomed confirmation from the HSE Corporate to the local HSE and UHL to appoint the Contractors to build the 60 Modular Bed Block at UHL with approval for €15.7M. This comes after the recent inclusion of the overall project in the HSE Capital plan and the specific advance HSE funding of €2M to get the excavation works underway on the site, which started two weeks ago.
“I welcome this confirmation by the HSE to UHL on the approval of specific funding to appoint contractors to construct the 60 Modular Bed unit at UHL.
“This follows the recent approval by the HSE of €2M to get excavation works underway. The excavation Contractors have been on site for the last two weeks and you can see the physical works underway with JCBs and construction workers on site.
“My sole focus on this acute 60 Bed Block at UHL has been to get it underway, built and in place as quickly as possible. This is why I looked for the recent advance HSE funding of €2M to get the excavation contractors on site and works underway, ensuring no further time was lost.
“I will now be looking to ensure the HSE gets this Acute 60 Bed Block at UHL built and in operation for the people of Limerick and the Mid-West within the scheduled timeframe of June next year.
End.
