Kieran O’Donnell, TD

Kieran O’Donnell TD is Minister of State for Older People and Housing in the Department of Health and Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage. He was appointed in January 2025.

As a TD, Kieran has a proven record of seeking solutions and delivering for the people –  working on projects to protect and enhance communities of the Limerick City Constituency.

He has an Constituency Advice Centre in Limerick City. Married to Phil with a Family of four, Kieran is a UL graduate and Chartered Accountant, with many years of experience with his own practice. Previously Kieran served as Minister of State for Local Government and Planning when he progressed the Directly elected mayor legislation for Limerick. Kieran has been a prominent Chair of the Transport and member of the Finance, Banking Inquiry and Public Accounts committees. He has a special interest in Disabilities. He was appoointed Minister of State for Local Government and Planning in December 2022, and appointed Minister of State with responsibility for the Office of Public Works in April 2024.

Kieran has successfully delivered Flood relief projects, campaigned for the M20, extra beds at UHL and St. Johns, Garda resources, Job creation, Urban, rural and farming development, Shannon Airport connectivity, schools and housing.
